The Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota as well as other institutions of higher learning, offers the Certified Professional designation. MNLA-CPs have studied a broad range of horticultural topics and have then passed a rigorous examination of general industry knowledge, as well as an examination within their specialty field
Through the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) Level I Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program, individuals who are currently employed in the concrete paver installer industry have the opportunity to pursue education, certification and industry recognition. You can become one of more than 13,000 certified installers by attending one of our two-day courses. The practical two-day course, followed by written exam, is designed to enhance the knowledge of individuals involved in the construction and installation of interlocking concrete pavements. Topics covered include: material estimating, job layout, soil classification, soil compaction, base and material compaction, bedding sand, specialty applications, paver installation, use of labor-saving specialty tools, edge restraints, basic contract law, documenting job costs, safety, and maintenance and management.
The Segmental Retaining Wall Installer Education Program, put together by the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), is a seminar series designed to reinforce national standardized installation and site practices within the SRW installer community. Level I is structured for all employees involved in SRW installation and provides fundamental instruction on minimum installation guidelines, material and system component properties, soils and compaction, site practices and equipment selection. Those successfully completing the classroom seminar and passing a written examination become recognized as a NCMA Level I SRW Installer.
